WARMEST GREETINGS!

We had just received the money.Thank you very much for the support.

Sorry for the delays of answering your previous e-mails. We were very busy these past few weeks and it also happened that up to now our internet access is still disconnected. We are using different email address for security purposes.

As for our update regarding the union, yesterday (May 28) we staged a peaceful picket protest simultaneously in front of Toyota Bicutan and Sta.Rosa plant campaigning the physical return-to-work of the 227 payroll reinstated union members and to start CBA negotation.Unfortunately, both pickets were forcefully dispersed by the management through security guards and police officers. The second dispersal attact at Bicutan plant around 2:15 PM was almost bloody resulting ten union members to suffer injuries. We were beaten by Toyota security guards using hard wooden sticks similar to wooden planks and fired gun shots on the air. One member was badly beaten on his head and suffered multiple hits on his body requiring minor operation and further observation of the body from the injuries got. We were planning to file a complaint regarding this incident to International Labor Organization (ILO) but we do not know how the format or the process. Can you help us in this matter? We were also planning to stage an indignation rally to be supported by other progressive unions and related organizations.Today, we filed our notice of strike to the government with the grounds of unfair labor practice (mass hiring of contractuals),illegal dismissal and suspension, harassments and discrimination (unpaid benefits). In due time, the union will held another strike as we planned. You were asking our approval regarding your plan to held picket protest(s) in front of Toyota Japan. Our reply is affirmative, you can stage the picket(s) as you wish. We would like also to raise the idea of campaigning "BOYCOTT TOYOTA PRODUCTS" at regional level (Asia Pacific). What do you think about this ? Send us your reply regarding our questions and other developments regarding your planned picket.

Again we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you all in your continuing support!

In solidarity,
TMPCWA
