Streik der Zementarbeiter

Mehr als 1.500 Arbeiter der Hellwan Zementfabrik haben am 19. März einen Sitzstreik im Werk begonnen, mit dem sie Lohnerhöhung und Gleichbehandlung mit den Belegschaften anderer zementwerke fordern. Alle bisherigen Versuche der Gewerkschaft, mit dem schweizerisch-italienischen Unternehmen zu verhandeln, wurden schroff abgelehnt. More than 1500 workers from Cement Hellwan company workers are sitting-down in their company now to demand to their rights in the profits and to increasing in their salaries.

Most of Cement Hellwan company shares invested by swiss cement company (which invested by Italian Cement Company)..although both of them under control one company but Hellwan workers still suffering from decreasing their salaries and from the inequality between them and their colleges who works in sewiss Cement company.

From the side of Cement Tura Company workers, which invested by the same company they compelled to took up a bitter struggle on the last year, sat-down and struck many times demanding the equality between them and their colleges who work in Siwees Cement Company, till gained later to achieve their demands, and be enable to concluding collective work agreement with the company administration on 8th from last February.

The trade union of company workers tried on the last weeks to actuate their workers demands, and negotiate those demands with company administration and the other relevant sides.. but they always faced clear stubborn..

Cement Hellwan Company workers were demanded to their right in production motive (swags)..and they felt in the same time their characteristic because they actual producers of cement "Crinkle" which pocketed in Cement Tura Company bags.

When the days gone without getting on the rights of the workers or any agreements about those rights despite appeals and negotiations on those.. The workers declared today with leadership by their trade union that they will sit-down in their company until the acceptance for their demands:

The workers get their shares from the last year swags which ended on 31/12/2005 and amount the salaries of 14 months.

Achieve the equality between the company workers and Cement Tura workers according to stipulation in the collective work agreement which signed later with company administration, specially which regarding for salaries structure, and production motives system.

Center for Trade Union & Workers Services (CTUWS) is following up with a lot of concern the develop of the event in Cement Hellwan factories united in solidarity with its workers in their fair demands, and specially demand to sign collective work agreement along the lines of agreement which reached between company administration and Cement Tura workers.. confirming on proceeding the main standard including ban the discrimination between worker and other, and which it stipulate on the equality in the salary when exist equality in the work.

And CTUWS mentions about making contacts with the International Union for Woods & Building Workers Trade Union to call upon its support for sit-down workers and their legal rights, and it demand all concerned sides to interfere responding to workers demands.. invite you to be united in solidarity with their struggle standing by their right in equality, and fair salary.
