2001: Große Lohn-Streiks in der südafrikanischen
Autoindustrie
unumstritten. Wir veröffentlichten Stellungnahmen von WIVL (Workers International
Vanguard League) - auch zu diesen gewerkschaftlichen Auseinandersetzungen:
- Latest WIVL statement on the motor strike 18.08.01
- WORKERS UNITE IN ACTION - IT'S NOT TOO LATE!
"We salute the workers who came out on strike in the auto strike. Indeed it
was a brave decision, clearly not an easy one in today's harsh times! We also
salute the Mine Workers Union -Solidarity [ex-SAWU] for their decision to
work to rule to put pressure on the motor bosses! (...)" WIVL statement vom 13.08.01
- 7.08.01: WIVL STATEMENT ON THE SELLOUT BY THE OCGAWU LEADERSHIP IN THE MOTOR
STRIKE! "The Workers International Vanguard League condemns in the strongest
possible terms the sellout by the Ocgawu leaders of the current motor strike.
Their actions by breaking the strike and accepting the bosses offer from a
negotiations that they were not even part of, is worse than the days of the
liaison committees. Any Ocgawu leader associating themselves with such actions
are nothing less than scabs. This action is also sabotage of the fight of
the dismissed workers for reinstatement! These so-called leaders acted without
mandate and should be booted out of the union. We call on all Ocgawu members
to disregard the so-called agreement endorsed by SS Williams, the Ocgawu Uitenahge
local chairperson. It is clear that since he signed the no-strike agreement
at Union Spinning Mills, he has continued with his unmandated treachery. His
role can only be seen as that of agent provocateur and he should be dealt
with by the union accordingly. We call on all motor sector workers to unite
against the capitalists. United we stand, divided, only the bosses will win."
- CALL FOR WORKING CLASS UNITY IN SUPPORT OF THE MOTOR SECTOR STRIKE! WIVL
statement vom 4 Aug 2001
- The Cosatu leadership want to sidetrack the struggle against privatization!
WIVL statement on the current strikes vom 2/08/01
- CALL FOR WORKERS UNITY IN THE MOTOR SECTOR! [11.07.2001] "Workers International
Vanguard League condemns the intransigent approach of the motor sector bosses
in the current wage negotiations. They are exploiting the divisions at the
VWSA plant and the fact that the mass dismissal of the 1386 workers in February
last year was now upheld by the Labour Appeal Court. Now that the VWSA bosses
have closed their Audi line and by now have dismissed virtually all the replacement
labour, the Numsa leaders and the so-called patriots, in the unions, the government
and the universities remain quiet. It is abundantly clear that the mass dismissal
of last year was nothing else but a mass retrenchment exercise, at the same
time escaping paying packages and getting rid of workers who were fighting
globalisation at the shopfloor. The fight against unemployment, for the state
and the Cosatu and Numsa leaders, is timidly submissive to the whims of big
capital. (...)" Aufruf von WIVL zum gemeinsamen
Vorgehen von Automobilarbeitern (VW, Audi etc) in SA und anderswo (englisch)
