Statement from wsf-India Organising Committee

Dear Friends,

The India Organising Committee met after the blasts in Mumbai that took place on Monday, the 25th of August, 2003 and took of the stock of the situation. After detailed deliberations the IOC members were unanimous in their resolve to take forward the WSF India process. Events such as these would not deter us in any manner.

We base our confidence on the resilience of the city of Mumbai and the spirited support of the citizens of Mumbai.
In the course of the last few days we have received messages of solidarity from friends across the world and we believe all organisations, involved in the WSF process, are united with us in our collective endeavours for WSF 2004.

Another world is possible...

Stellungnahme des Organisationskomitees des WSF

Liebe Freunde,

das indische Organisationskomitee traf sich nach den Schlägen vom 25.August 2003 (Anmerkung d. Übersetzers: Razzien, Festnahmen) um die Lage zu diskutieren. Nach ausführlichen Debatten waren alle mitglieder des Komitees einstimmig der Meinung, es gelte den Vorbereitungsprozess fortzusetzen. Auch solche Ereignisse können uns nicht davon abhalten.

In den vergangenen Tagen haben wir solidaritätserklärungen von Freunden aus aller Welt erhalten, und wir glauben, dass alle am WSF-Prozess beteiligten Organisationen mit uns einig sind in den kollektiven Anstrengungen für das Weltsozialforum 2004.

Eine andere Welt ist möglich...
