Ford has opened a new $1.5 billion factory – the Bahia Assembly plant – run entirely by short-term contract labour.

Plants in Sao Barnardo and Sao Paulo employing full-time Ford workers have been closed, and the workers made redundant.

The Piranha plant is also under threat, with the transfer of production and loss of jobs, and the workers are currently on strike fighting for their future.

The Ford Workers Combine expresses full support to our fellow workers in Brazil.

This experience demonstrates the threat of allowing Ford to employ workers on a temporary basis in Britain. People need full time jobs – another reason to reject the current offer!
