Dear colleagues!
Dear brothers and sisters!
In Belarus is accomplished the next violation of essential human rights and rights of labour unions. By the solution of the Ministry of Justice pursuant to the Decree of the president Lukashenko is refused in a deregistration of the Byelorussian Independent Association of Industrial Trade Unions (BIAITU)
More than month went the action at law of the petition on refusal in a reregistration BIAITU in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus. By recognising all claims of the Ministry of Justice inconsistent, the Supreme Court has not satisfied the petition of BIAITU. On the Supreme Court, prosecutor's office the applicable effect was rendered by political power, for which one there is nothing more dangerous than strong independent trade-union association.
BIAITU acted since December 1991 and was the most reformatting wing in trade union movement in Belarus, organiser of the struggle for the social and economical rights of the workers, human rights, conductor of really independent trade-union policy.
For 8 years of the activity BIAITU and the trade unions which are included in it, have conducted tens meetings, strikes both picketings and other actions of protest.
For the first time in Belarus, BIAITU has concluded in 1992 the trilateral Tariff Agreement with government and organisation of the employers (BNPA). In BIAITU three trade unions enter: automobile and agricultural machinery, radio electronics and small and innovation enterprises. BIAITU integrates about 300 thousand workers. The cochairmans of the BIAITU are Alexander Bukvostov, Guennady Fedynych and Yuri Golub. Among the opponents of BIAITU activities, except the power, was also Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB). Practically FTUB has refused in support to BIAITU in judicial proceedings, promoted authorities in decision marking on re-registration refusal.
BIAITU board addresses to all trade unions, trade-union associations and to right defending organisations of Europe and world-wide with the request to express the protest to the government of Belarus who is suppressing of the rights of trade unions on freedom to make associations and to act independently on protection of workers rights.
The independent and democratic trade-union movement in Belarus needs your support and solidarity!
